I’m Giselle, a neuro-affirming, child-led, and play-based speech-language pathologist specializing in sensory-based therapy, AAC evaluations, and supporting neurodivergent children. I am a first-generation Cuban-American and have always been driven by a deep passion for advocacy and service. After high school, I served in the Army National Guard, an experience that shaped my resilience and dedication to helping others.
I earned my undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Bridgewater State University and began my career as a speech-language pathology assistant before completing my Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology at Florida International University. Throughout my career, I have worked exclusively with pediatric populations, including serving as Director of Clinical Services at a private practice, where I led a multidisciplinary team.
I'm now the proud owner of Happy Play Therapy in Davie, FL, where my team provides speech, occupational, and physical therapy for children, primarily ages 0-10. I hold advanced certifications, including Certified Autism Specialist (CAS), Hanen: It Takes Two to Talk, PROMPT Level 1, Beckman Oral Motor, and LPT Strengths-Based Approach to Autism, allowing me to provide specialized, evidence-based care tailored to each child’s needs.
Beyond my professional role, I am first and foremost a mother to two beautiful children. My journey as a parent has profoundly shaped the way I approach my work. My hyperactive and vivacious daughter keeps me on my toes and reminds me daily of the beauty of curiosity, energy, and joy. My son has Tatton-Brown Rahman Syndrome (TBRS), a rare genetic condition affecting fewer than 1 in 1 million individuals. Navigating his diagnosis has given me an even deeper appreciation for the challenges families face and has strengthened my commitment to compassionate, individualized care. I intimately understand what it means to advocate for a child, to seek answers, and to celebrate progress—no matter how big or small.
I’m also the author of Unbroken, a children’s book about a non-speaking child, available on Amazon. In addition, I actively host community events in Broward County to support families and promote inclusion.
