Happy Play Therapy is proud to be an approved provider for Florida’s Early Steps program, offering center-based services exclusively at our child-friendly clinic in Davie.

If your child is under 3 years old and has been referred to Early Steps due to a developmental delay, disability, or at-risk condition — we’re here to support you every step of the way.

Florida’s Early Steps program provides early intervention services to infants and toddlers from birth to 36 months who have developmental delays or disabilities — or who are at risk of them. Early Steps helps young children build the foundational skills they need to learn, play, move, and communicate — during the most critical period of brain development.

Services are family-centered, individualized, and provided at no cost to eligible families.

At Happy Play Therapy, we specialize in neuro-affirming, sensory-informed, and play-based care tailored for young children. Our center-based approach offers:

• A welcoming, safe, and engaging clinic designed for infants and toddlers
   
• Evidence-based therapies that support early communication, motor skills, sensory development, social interaction, and more
   
• Highly trained specialists in speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy
   
• A collaborative team that works alongside Early Steps service coordinators and families to deliver care aligned with each child’s Individualized Family Support Plan (IFSP)
   
• Support and guidance to help parents feel confident and empowered in their child’s development

Your child may qualify for Early Steps services if they are under 36 months and:

• Are not meeting expected developmental milestones (e.g., walking, talking, playing)
   
• Have a diagnosed condition such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, sensory impairments, neurological/genetic disorders, or were born with low birth weight
   
• Show delays in areas such as communication, fine or gross motor skills, social-emotional development, or adaptive skills
   

Eligibility is determined through a multidisciplinary evaluation coordinated by the Early Steps team.

If your child is found eligible and center-based care is appropriate, we offer the following services through Early Steps:

• Speech and Language Therapy including parent coaching and education
   
• Occupational Therapy including parent coaching and education
   
• Physical Therapy including parent coaching and education

There are no income requirements to qualify for Early Steps, and families are not charged for services. Insurance or Medicaid may be accessed with your permission, but it is not required.
